And just like that SaaStr day 3 came and went! From the second we got there, till the doors closed, our crew was busy chatting with founders from all over the world. 

On top of the usual booth agenda, two of our senior leaders at Zeni got on the SaaStr stage and shared their thoughts on the power of data.

Zeni’s VP of Marketing, Ben Ashworth and Sr Director of Finance, Leena Swar, took the stage at SaaStr Annual. Their talk, Data Driven Dominance: A Blueprint for Exponential Growth, was a HUGE success! Here’s a quick breakdown of what they touched on 👇

The 411 on SaaStr 2024

As someone who’s attended more events than I can remember, this year’s SaaStr was one I’ll never forget. 

Rather than opting in for the classic booth design, we decided to do something different. While going against the grain can be a risk, our 90s themed booth and epic scratcher card game brought us more success than I could have imagined. Why? Because people crave connection. 

And when you combine nostalgia with genuine engagement, magic happens. We weren’t just another booth; we were a place where founders came to have fun, share stories, and build trust in a way that felt real. It wasn’t just about our bookkeeping product; it was about the experience. That’s the Zeni way — and it's how we create lasting relationships.

Beyond the booth design and the fun, here’s what I learned from chatting with founders about bookkeeping 👇

  1. Founders don’t have time to manage their books — they need solutions that let them focus on growth, not data entry.
  2. Today’s bookkeeping is still too manual, too slow, and way too fragmented.
  3. Saying your business is 'AI-powered' only matters if you show how it works and the difference it makes.
  4. When founders saw how effortless bookkeeping could be with Zeni, their eyes lit up. The sense of relief was immediate, and it was clear they finally found the solution they’d been searching for.

While I’m sad that the biggest SaaS event of the year is over, I’m jazzed about the outcome. 

Overall, what really hit me was how founders are ready to ditch the old ways of doing things. They’re done with manual, fragmented bookkeeping that slows them down. They want something that helps them focus on growing their businesses, not wrestling with spreadsheets. And let me tell you, when they saw how Zeni makes bookkeeping easy, it was like watching someone win big in a 90s arcade — pure excitement and relief.

I left SaaStr feeling more connected to the founders we met, and it’s clear we’re not just a product — we’re here to help them thrive. After this week, I know we’re doing something special.
